Interested in joining us?
Hopefully the short introduction on About Us will have given some insight into what the Group, and being a member of the C.S.G. is all about.
Membership of the C.S.G. is open to anyone with an interest in targeting large chub, and although there are no qualifying weights to be accepted, you will need to be an experienced chub angler and be willing to contribute in some way; i.e. By writing articles/letters for our own magazine, attending Group get together weekends and reporting catches of chub of 4lb and over to the Group Records Officer on a regular basis and at least yearly.
Membership is not restricted to any number and the Group does not have a waiting list but membership levels have been maintained in the 60’s for a number of years. Any higher and the Group would lose its closeness and the friendships that has built over the years. Although members are drawn from all areas of the country and membership numbers are historically high, we would be particularly interested in hearing from anglers currently fishing the rivers of Wales, the North West and North East areas of England.
Current membership fees are £25-00 with a £5-00 joining fee for new members and those rejoining after a lapse in membership.
New members upon acceptance to the Group will receive a copy of the Group Constitution together with back issues* of the current years magazine ‘Chevin’, access to the member only forum, Chub Chat, a copy of the Group Membership list and information of any Group get-together’s being held
Many back issues of the Group magazine ‘Chevin’ are available to Group members in C.D. format as is the Group History
The Group membership year runs from 1st January - 31st December.
To qualify for Group awards all outstanding catch returns must be submitted to the Group Records Officer as soon as possible after the year end.
